NexusVue™ Compatibility & Setup Guide

To ensure the best experience with your 15.6" Triple Screen Extender, please verify your laptop specifications below. The NexusVue is designed for high-performance multitasking, but connectivity depends on your laptop’s port capabilities.

1. The "Golden Rule" of Connectivity

Your laptop must support video output through its ports. There are three ways to connect:

  • Option A (Single Cable): Your laptop has two (2) Full-Function USB-C ports (Supports Power + Video + Data).

  • Option B (Two Cables): Your laptop has one (1) Full-Function USB-C port and one (1) HDMI port + USB-A (for power).

  • Option C (Hybrid): Your laptop has two (2) HDMI ports + two USB-A ports (requires additional adapters).

2. Apple MacBook Compatibility (Crucial)

Apple’s silicon chips handle external displays differently across models. Please check your "About This Mac" settings.

MacBook Chip Triple Screen Support? Note
M1 / M2 / M3 (Base) NO (Native) These chips only support one external display.
M1 / M2 / M3 Pro YES Supports dual external monitors natively.
M1 / M2 / M3 Max YES Supports dual external monitors natively.
Intel-Based Macs YES Most models from 2018–2020 support dual output.

Note: Base M1/M2/M3 users can still use the NexusVue by adding a DisplayLink Certified docking station.

3. Windows & PC Requirements

Most modern Windows laptops are compatible if they feature the correct USB-C symbols.

  • Look for these symbols next to your ports:

    • ⚡ (Thunderbolt 3/4): 100% Compatible. Supports video and power.

    • D (DisplayPort / DP Alt Mode): 100% Compatible. Supports video.

    • USB-C (Data Only): Not compatible for video. You must use the HDMI port instead.

4. Laptop Size Compatibility

The NexusVue 15.6" is a large-format extender. It features an adjustable tension bracket designed to fit:

  • Screen Sizes: 13.3" to 17.3" laptops.

  • Max Width: Up to 410mm.

  • Thickness: Fits standard and gaming laptops (up to 0.35" bezel thickness).

5. Troubleshooting: "No Signal" or Black Screen

If a screen does not turn on, it is usually a power delivery issue:

  1. Insufficient Power: Large 15.6" IPS panels require significant power. If using only one cable, your laptop battery might be throttled.

  2. The Fix: Plug the included USB-C to USB-A cable into a wall charger or a secondary port on your laptop to provide dedicated power to that specific screen.
